Eye splicing Yale rope - help !!!

I am very happy that I was able to get this Aztec rope spliced. In fact, I just did another splice and from start to finish including muscling the final bury took just under an hour. Whew !

Eric, my first 2 splices had only 24 strands of core buried. Now, my last 3 splices have about 32 strands and the core taper is more gradual.

As my technique continues to be refined, I am using much less tape in the process.

One other tip I learned is to make as much us of temporary slip knots throughout the process to secure and straighten the rope, and to pull the fid through. This turns out to be a big help.

Thanks again for all your suggestions.

Sounds like you're really pulling it all together, Marden. Keep it up! Make those anchors you bolted to your walls worth every red cent!
