Eye splice Cheap single braid with filler inside?

How do I treat filler in cheap single braid to make a eye splice. It is there to keep rope round and not for strength. Using it for haul line for tools.

Is the filler some type of paper cardboard composite. I ask because I just randomly looked through a hardware stores rope collection and found what I think you are explaining.

I don't know how that filler stuff works but don't see much strength properties to it. I wouldn't know how to splice it either without seeing it. Call the company that sells the product and see what they say.

To be use for hauling up tools. Didn't want to use climbing rope for this purpose because of more wear and tear. Solid braided poly 100 ft. X 1/2 in safe working load 400 lbs called Secured Line by Lehigh Group a subsidiary of Jarden Corp. No info on how to splice on web. Say on package "Work with pulleys" , most likely because the filler core keeps it round. Picture to follow to show rope.

I know what you're talking about. It looks like a rolex up drier sheet as a core. It's crappy rope. You would've been better off getting some yalex or tenet or something like that. You're going to have to replace this stuff so often that it just doesn't make sense to have. I thinks it's sold more for people that are going to use it once or twice to put up a clothes line while they're camping or something like that.

I've spliced it for kicks. I was able to get a wire fid up through. I pulled the core out and spliced it like a 16 strand rope, cutting the paper core at a long angle and then just buried the tail to get it to blend with the tapered core.

Get real rope next time!
