Ever heard of a "Strongwood" Soft Maple?

Ever heard of a \"Strongwood\" Soft Maple?

Saw this rare spieces near a job located at the end of our operating radius. I think this must be the last of the
strong soft maples!

Ha- I like it!

Except I would have configured the fingers a bit differently to tribute my favorite neighbors.

It interesting alright, but they'll regret staining it, Shigo and the bear from modern arboriculture

I don't know much about why the tree owner did this. They weren't home when I took the pictures. Later this spring I'll get a chance to go by it again.

Do you think it will compartmentalize the "Arm" and not start decay due to all the stain?

It doesn't look like the tree is in the best shape any way. After they had cut of a couple of limbs, and it looks like the trunk isn't going to be that strong. Probably should have trimmed and cabled it you think?
