We got an Ergovation saddle but no manual or instructions came with it. I was supprised.

what i mean is, instruction on how one should adjust things and such. -not how to climb,

even the most simple petzel gear, comes with a little booklet, showing what not to do and what to do.

something i don't like about it, no hook, loop or ring for the chainsaw to be tetherd to on the side. I also wonder how long the velcro will stay good with sawdust over time.

MattyD thinks it's pretty comfortable, I hope it works out well.

Isn't one of the designers of the Ergovation on TreeBuzz? Should a manual have come with it?

I really hope this will be a good saddle.

thanks,

it should have come with a manual. Mine did.
I had an ergo and it is a very comfortable saddle.
Unfortunately though your fears of the velcro sticking with repeated sawdust buildup are justified. I started getting little peels on the corners that got bigger. It was a pain too when my slings would stick to the velcro by accident.
Another problem that developed over time was the snap button that holds your legstraps to the saddle, it started coming undone any time I would move my legs and was a real pain in the to snap back on while you were wearing it.
Such a shame because it is the most comfortable saddle I've ever worn.

Careful the pdf is huge so give it some time to load.

That should be it. I got a manual with mine. I'd set it up and leave all the Velcro long then cut them after about a month of good climbing.

I'd keep and eye on the stitching and just melt it down when it starts to frey. Not the best solution but better than taking it to a cobbler.

I would grab 2 accessories biners and throw them right behind the side D's. There is just enough room for them and they don't move around at all. There is room on either side on the back to place two which I like for hooking the end of the chainsaw lanyard.

Hope that helps some.
