Edelrid Tree Magic Harness

thanks for all the info; i've contacted some folks in the uk and they can't ship it out for some insurance reasons; the other info i've found is that Edelrid seems to be working on some strength issues(possibly those gear loops); still nothing real concice though. Edelrid does make another -called Forest- any one hear of it?
it's a much simpler design with less glitter; can't find it either.

hi guys, unsure of the first posting but a few fellow climbers of mine have had problems with the tree magic, one of them had one of the gear loops rip completely out while carrying a chainsaw on the first week of use and the other has had the webbing in the harness begin to come away. One has recently changed to the butterfly 2 and the other is soon to follow, i personally have a tree austria harness and i have so far had the elastic on the leg strap come away and one of the metal gear clips break. So i guess it is all due to the amount of use and type of use it is subjected to.

A new Friend I met this year at Nash (Paul Kenny) who came in 7th overall and is from New Zealand (congrats Paul) was using his "tree magic" in the competion. I asked him how he liked it and he said about the same as you treekiwi. He works in the Tree Austria. The only reason I'm writing is because I too am in the market for a new saddle

Here is one more vote for the tree austria. I have been in mine for a couple of seasons now and it is holding up well. It is quite comfy also. My last two harnesses were buckingham. My only complaint to this point has been that the suspenders(detachable) are difficult to adjust and seem to have been constructed for a person with an abnormally long torso.

personally i havent used the suspenders, but have been told it its better without them, as for the detachable seat,i personally prefer the harness without it as although it is flexable it does restrict a large amount of movement for me and can dig in, i find that if you are siting on one place for a long period of time it helps alot, for example i used it when i was a technican during a climbing competion and it was definately better with the seat as the feeling leaves you legs quickly, but overall the harness is light and comfortable compared to other brands especially some of the buckinghams.
