Dump trailers

I guess only time will tell. Mission does have the best warranty in the business (4 years, I think). I'm certainly more careful when loading large wood into the trailer then I would be with a steel dump. So far only 1 significant dent in the floor. Again, I'm not using this to haul large loads of wood everyday. Like many things in this industry, it isn't the answer for everyone.

Depending on how you generally use it and what you put for equipment in the trailer you might want to consider lining the floor with some hdpe panels. They should really help with added protection from denting the floor. They are available at Menards in 4x8 sheets for fairly reasonable prices, although the thicker stuff is usually special order. Makes the floor super slippery which is awesome for dumping but makes it not much fun for putting equipment in.

This is what we have been using for the past several years, I had Maxey custom built it for me. It is a 20 ft trailer, with the dump box 16'. We used heavy gauge expanded metal for the floor of the platform. I can side load my mini, but it is amazing how much that platform gets used for setting out tools! I just upgraded the axles to 8000 lbs, after I bent the 7000 ones. Wish I would have done that from the start.

Load Trail, nice! I'm a dealer for them.

That looks like the standard height gooseneck. My climber bought a similar trailer without the King Size sides, and in black.

Can you please send this bit of feedback to them. Their fit and finish is poor. The trailer is structurally bomb proof but lots of the welding is piss pour. Also lots of the pin holes as where the ramps slides were powder coated to the extreme too a bit of die grinder work to make them work. The same goes for the latches on the gates. Now the paint finish quality is spot on. The steel sizes used is awesome! The toolbox addition is great the lid could use some work. The king size sides are amazing! The tarp placement is not so good either as I have to build an aluminum bracket to mount it up on the neck as its original spot would now allow for the side extensions.
Just some feed back for them.

Sure will do that. It's not TERRIABLE and is a quality trailer for sure just def not something I would be proud of. My day job is weld shop foreman/crane inspector for the DOD

Totally forgot to update you guys here is a picture of what I ended up buying thanks to help from you guys
Looks sharp! Never heard of the King sides as an option but looks like a nice compromise of the capacity of a deck over and the low loading height of a standard unit. Definitely something I'll consider when it comes time to replace mine.

Another idea is instead of a platform trailer, you could have a regular dump trailer with the front of the trailer's walls removable and installable as a headboard. The downside is you can't dump with the machine in the trailer (well... maybe). The advantage is more capacity when you need it.

Hey Carl,
Did this trailer ever get built? I'm curious to see how it turned out. Let us know!

Yeah the videos I have so far aren't fantastic, but the trailer is built! Hopefully it'll ship this week and we can get some better pictures to share.

Have the trailer, did one small job close to home and as it was a short day loaded the Avant in sideways for a few pictures just to show what it looks like.

A very well built trailer. (My armchair engineering may have bumped the weight up a bit much.) I will run it over scales soon.
