It’s been a very wet and cool spring, followed up a cooler and drier summer. By cooler, I mean very few heat waves, but more days at higher than average temps.
This is the time of year one can really see the effects!

Yep, it seems like things are changing and fast. Of course drought stress in trees in cumulative and we've had many years of it in a row, now I'm starting to see a sudden increase in doug firs just straight up dying over the last year or so, despite being one of the more resilient trees here. And a huge portion of the big leaf maples look like absolute hell....
Going to be a lot of dead removals in the coming years.
I wish the other photos would upload. If we get another year or two, we will be well past the tipping point for many stressed trees.
Next will be the great waves of beetle attacks.
