Me too! And be sure to post lots of videos of that too! maybe some of you on 2 outriggers, extending and retracting with the load, all great video ideas and will get you loads of attention here on treebuzz!

I havent followed this thread really at all, and this is honestly the first video in the thread I have seen.

Jeff,

Of course ive done worse, I can say with confidence that I have broken things in my short career that are more expensive than most equipment you guys run! Havent had anything more than a broken fence panel or walkway stone busted of a customers (knock on wood). Not bragging, just facts of being on a high production crew, rushing around, and making a bad judgement call. I was never warned on most of the idiot moves I made, young Daniel however has been warned and continues to show us videos of him making less than desirable decisions.

Each their own!

Re: This thread is tree-diculous - - - NOT

I get the idea that in high production crews you have to keep moving, and yes I agree that what his crew and he does is on them and hopfully noone other then that. The only reason I bother to ask what I asked in my last post was due to the cutter seemingly knowing he is in harms way. I assume that due to him repositioning himself before making the final break cut (he goes to a position of reaching in the bucket). That makes me think that he knows what he is about to do might be better done in a safer manner for him.

live and learn I guess.

man thats rough considering all we run are a 70' buckets and 60 yard knuckleboom loader trucks with pick up and bobcat support. ;-)

neither have i, thank god!

yes but you have to balance safety vs. profit all day. a busted something or a hurt somebody really throws a monkey wrench into the clockworks. its pretty tough on the high quality, high production crews; to do both really requires a lot of team work and planning along with good salesmanship.

All I can say to both of you at this time is "THINK, BEFORE YOU DRINK, BEFORE YOU DRIVE ME INSANE". Breaking stuff just aint in my nature. Ask any I've worked for.

Jeff, having gotten the chance to go down and work with Bull and his crew, I can honestly say that Mayer's really has their sh*t together. Yes, they are very high production, but their jobs are well planned out from the salesman down to the crew chipping the brush, very safety oriented. I KNOW that they showed me a thing or two and I was very impressed with everyone.
