Drift HD camera

[ QUOTE ]

I like it Reg as it seems the best represention, height distortion not withstanding.

What are you supposed to get out of the corded mic?

What does the non corded remote look like (wrist banded?)?

Shame it does not have a light to indicate when you are recording as I can see you loosing mass footage like you said and even recording when you think you are not.

Dave, the corded mic just picks up the sounds with greater depth and clarity, the internal one on its own is very poor.

The velcro wrist band just looks like a watch with 2 buttons on it. There's a photo of it on the link to that website.

The stop/start does make 2 different beeb noises that you can hear with the earmuffs off without looking. I'd gotten the hang of it by the second tree but I still have a feeling it would do better with a new battery.

Jon, great to hear from you.

Thanks Tony, I like the shadow part in the pine vid.

Reg,

I've been meaning to post on this thread again, but took a long time to find it.

I watched the video again, this time on mid-size and not after a few beers.

I thought the color was great and it does show a lot.

Still saw some blurry when movement, but no big deal.

Color was excellent.

Nice camera, very interesting tree.

I figured it was a Euc, but then read later that it wasn't.

Thanks for posting.

Funny, the same day you posted this video, I was doing a removal that same day, a similar way with a rope wrench in your video, did a redirect the same way too.

Re: Drift HD Ghost camera

I missed this thread... totally off-base, but what a shame to see that madrone go. Those are one of my favorite trees and that one looked rad! (Nothing against Reg's skills, great climbing as usual) Carry on.

Re: Drift HD Ghost camera

Reg, really nice spread on that tree, great footage. The Tent Caterpillar has really done a number on our Madrone trees around these parts. Elevation is around 3000 ft, past years have been pretty dry, the web starts at the tips and before you know it the tree is dead.

I noticed an extra loop on your rigging line termination knot, wondering what you had going on there.
