I was stopped by dot 2 weeks ago. Talked to a friend and had an outside person come in to let me know what I needed incase of an audit. I didnt know there was such a thing for dot...

No preemployment drg test for emloyees driving 26000#+ is a $1900 fine
No random yearly drug test $1900 fine
Receipts should be categorized by employee and truck
and a lot more



It would be worth checking into if you run cdl trucks.

trucks 10000# are subject to everything but the drug tests



For people working out of town...dont stop on the way to the hotel and pick up beer. Even if it is unopened and in the back of the truck it is illegal.

DOT we had a whole file cabinet full of compliance paperwork.

Good stuff in principal, but a big PIA. More red tape you HAVE to do if running over #26000. Don't get audited without it!!

We have a DOT officer on the NW side of town who is the biggest A-hole - he makes you feel like a criminal for the least infraction. Other officers at least did there job without trying to belittle a reputable business man.

That Short little #@*&^!!! would make my blood boil.
