Do you sweat like a pig at work?

Then read this exceptional common sense article on what salt depletion results in?

Balance applies to more than not falling out of the tree it seems.

Sun flower seeds anyone?

This was on yahoo a while back. Those of you with cramp problems. Drink pickel juice. Yahoo had the numbers or percents on how much faster it works v's gatoraide. Their story not mine. Althought I've been drinking pickel juice for years. The by product of the pickel jar. You want cramps to disappear. Drink pickel juice thru the day.

You must eat a lot of pickles dude. Can't say I get cramps though and I climb in 30 degree C always, however everyone is different. I just drink plain tap water which is totally re-hydrating.

I use a product called natural calm. Its a magnesium suppliment you add to boiling water, let it cool and slam a shot. It tastes like hot sick with artificial lemon flavour, but on a hot day when I sweat profusely, its that or extremely painful muscle cramps when I sleep. I reckon pickle brine would taste a bit better.

good find on that article, jomoco. it is funny how little we know about our own nutrition

I'm a big fan of electrolyte products while working (or hiking or skiing)

drink mixes:
vitalyte and cyto-max are great, available at the ol' REI

Clif Shot Bloks - little sugary gel "candies" with electrolytes

i read an article in Rock and Ice magazine a year or so ago about a study that measured performance and recovery. electrolytes and a little protein helped A LOT. I'm searching for it, but can't find it yet. this link isn't the article itself, but they talk about that very same study. interestingm would fit well in the nutrition and training forum:

I got off my butt this morning, went up into the mountains, and cut huge crane logs into 16 inch firewood all day. Almost petrified dead euc, a mountain of it. Drank a gallon and a half of water, and burned two gallons of super un in my 365 Special.

365 outdrank me, but not by much!

Being semi-retired, I feel like a truck hit me today!

Use it or lose it they say, and I believe it.

That a boy Jomoco keep sweating and clearing those pores dude, nice to get off the couch and work those aging muscles. Semi-retirement must be nice after all those years of hard work though, time to do lots of reading, research and buzzing.

I've had the same cool vests for years too, and they really work, though I don't often use them up here.. Big stump grinding jobs in the heat, with no shade, standing next to the machine for hours

Stallion, buffalo? Hmmm sounds interesting, me I sweat like a DOG a big mean dog probably a Rottweiler. I only got to set my throwline and my shirt is soaked but the fragrance could be bottled and sold.

Buffalo, Stallion that's interesting. Me, I sweat like a dog a big mean rottweiler. I only got to set my throwline and my shirt is soaked but you can bottle my sweat and sell it as the next fragrance quite musky. A real man smell that would help elevate all the soft men's masculinity.

He IS the Buffalo, he SWEATS like a Stallion, he SHOWERS two or three times a month whether he needs to or not. Talk about fragrance. You could say it is in the horse-smell spectrum. Whew!

WOW SA snow/hail? Yeach that is crazy dude, glad I am not there. 31 degrees C here and bright and sunny nearly always except when it rains. Off to trim a Mahogany tree at a hotel by the beach.. for all it's negatives living on an island there are some positives.
