I will respectfully bow out of this conversation now. It was not my intention to police whats said. I hope you can understand, I would stand up for any of my friends being accused of something. Dave did confirm the reply to the post. Therefore, I have nothing to say on the matter. He's a grown man, makes his own decisions that aren't my place to explain or defend. If he chooses to address it, I'm sure he will. I'm sorry this happened and should have stayed out of it. The only reason I'm not deleting my comment is to be transparent in my motivations. Sorry I got involved. Best of intensions.

I don't think you should be hard on yourself for getting involved--and trying to tamp down the flames, at least until the facts could be determined. I think words like yours are more important these days--when everyone makes instantaneous up/down votes--than ever before. Innocent until proven guilty, and kindness and empathy are never bad things.
