The heat continues in central Texas. Triple digits for weeks now.
To keep the sweat and sawdust off my face I keep an old t-shirt handy to wipe down. After a day of wiping my face my cheekbones feel like they've been burned. The abrasiveness of the cotton shirt is rubbing me raw.
Has anyone found a better face mop? Finding a fabric that is soft but absorbent is a challenge.
We work 6-2:30 so the peak heat is coming as I'm driving home...whew!
Yesterday I drove the lift truck from tree to tree and put on my mesh brimmed hat instead of my Kask helmet. What a difference! I sure won't trade the Kask head protection but this little exposure showed me how much heat is actually contained inside the skid lid. I might be adding a small computer cooling fan to the helmet like I saw in a post a while ago.
