Lol okWhat?!
There is so much to say about your trial. I don’t have time now to write so I’ll come back after others have commented
Good idea. or I was thinking about a razor blade box opener the kind where I could let go of and it closes with spring.I'd probably have used a riggers knife, no pointy bits.
I think we all panic a little bit when we see a tiny Nick but I always just relied on the. If its 7000 lb mbs divided by 24 strands..two strands it's still 600lbs ..( idk if mbs is the right term)As I commented on the video, I only would've done it with two safety to prevent that swing with the knife in the hand.
Other than that, great test, the results were what I was expecting, although I still panick if I see a tiny little nick in my rope...
I knowwww that was crazy . I've actually never even had that happen at workYikes! Not your test, but the carabiner opened going over the branch.

Is that one of those new quad-locking biners?Yikes! Not your test, but the carabiner opened going over the branch.

Doing it two feet of the ground wouldn't of been as fun for me .That would have been a lot easier to watch if you had been two feet off the ground, and the demo would have been just as informative.
I don't worry much about the rope breaking on my 3:1, but having a damaged area get jammed in the ZZ or a pulley is a real concern.
How did you even notice that open carabiner, because all I can see is that HUGE orange appendage Travor is sportin'... Dudes packing some serious heat....Yikes! Not your test, but the carabiner opened going over the branch.
