Another form of cross training that I have enjoyed for years is bike riding. After a morning of this I am fried. It works my whole body. Heres a nose pick on a 5' ramp.

My wife says " when are you going to grow up!" Tire tap on a 5' ramp. This type of riding ia very rewarding. It may take 20 hours to learn a trick. Very simular to hard sport rock climbing. Just alot closer to home.

This is what keeps me in shape, along with a mountain bike.

I would like to get back to my youthful days of biking, skate boarding, etc... But, since I am the "bread winner" of the family, I am too nervous of getting hurt and being out of work. I'm a tool now. My body is built for working and making a living.

On the days that I don't work, I'll walk 5 miles on my treadmill. I hate it and it takes me nearly 90 minutes, but I know I've got to do it. I'm having a heck of a time trying to lose the weight that I gained when my foot was boo booed.

but walking/running burn the same amount of calories

[/ QUOTE ] ......does this mean you're "powerwalking"? At least you're on a treadmill and not out in the streets
