Crimson Red?

Hi Folks,

I'm having trouble getting an exact id confidently on this, I am thinking crimson red oak?

Any help would be appreciated.

When you say Crimson Red Oak is that synonymous with Crimson Spire Oak? Is it excurrent? Can't really tell from the pictures, or how small the leaves are.

Oh yeah my bad, spire. It's columnar fo sho

That's a hybrid of English Oak and Swamp White Oak. That is what it looks like to me, Crimson Spire. Tiny little leaves?

They're actually not vey tiny, more closer to the size of my hand.

I still think you're right. I know they hold dead leaves all winter so that's another clue if you can find that out. We have a bunch of those in certain neighborhoods here in Detroit.

possibly the leaves are bigger in the photo since they're north side leaves in a pretty shady spot?
