Is the floating block still attached to the cable? What is that big chunk of iron on the end of the cable?

Tom, that looks like the block with double sheaves, but they aren't in use for 2-1 or 4-1 advantage.

I'll guess at 4500 lb. Elm or silver maple???

Don't get too excited Roger. I'm not going to throw out all of my archive photos just because of color schemes. I did practice tree work for quite a few years and used 7 or 8 different saw makes(I think we discussed this before?).

Though I should mention, in all honesty, I have never spent a single cent on an "all orange saw" to date. The ones I had were all prizes.

Oh yeah, the other stuff. Well, Roger is right about the hook set up, we were only using a single-part. I like the speed better than the advantage. And I believe that the pick was around 4800lbs. and was indeed Silver maple. Good eye Roger.

That would be Personal Protective Equipment, ie hard hat, safety glasses, gloses, etc.
