This accident happened in Portage, Michigan. The paramedic I talked with said the people on the lines ran into each other when the log started falling, one fell down and was struck in the back. The log was 20 to 26 inch diameter.

A member of a landscaping crew was killed Thursday afternoon in Portage when a tree fell and crushed him.
Anthony Lamont Stacy, 31, of Kalamazoo, was working a guide rope as the crew cut the tree and could not get out of the way when the tree fell, Portage police said.
The accident occurred on Windemere Street in a residential neighborhood just north of Romence Road.
Neighbors said a landscaping crew was working to cut a tree in the front yard of 6813 Windemere around 2 p.m. Thursday.
A woman who answered the door at the residence Thursday evening politely declined to comment.
According to a police news release, the tree limbs had already been removed and workers were cutting the trunk when the accident occurred. Police say they believe Stacy was killed instantly.
Doug Kalinowski, director of the Bureau of Safety and Regulation, which administers the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration act, said his agency had not been notified of Stacy's death. Companies that legally employ people who are killed on the job must notify the agency of a death within eight hours of the employer learning of its occurrence, Kalinowski said.
Arrangements for Stacy are pending at Harper Funeral Home.
