Cordless Drill for GRCS (?)

How do you know if you are exceeding the wll of the GrcS if you are using the milwaukee or the two hand handle?

From what I read in the grcs manual it's more about exceeding the wll of the rope, do log weight calculations if you think you're getting close if you're negative rigging keeping weight and safe working loads for your equipment should always be on your mind anyways it's not like you can feel how much weight is going onto your gear before you drop the piece.

I have given this some thought myself. First the handle is designed as a fuse from what I've been told, One hand or Two hands from the same body only. The length of the drill is not any longer than the hand crank (hand placement at least, battery sticks out a little further).
So simply one can hand crank or one can drill and apply the same amount of torque. I just use the drill without the secondary handle, when it feels that I am having to hold the drill in place as it's working I call it quits there and fine tune with the handcrank. I can almost always get a little more rotation by hand, but not much.

I asked because, if I recall correctly, Greg Good seemed to say only one person should crank and they shldnt add an extension to generate more force.
Made me wonder.
He was interviewed by guiltyoftreeson.

That is very correct. One person only on the crank, no cheater bars either.

Cool, that’s almost half what the arb sites list it at! I’ll check it out. Thanks!!! Wish I had the GRCS today to help get an Aspen off a $7 mil home.
Recently received a Harken 44 for an unbelievable price. After a lot of searching I came up on this adapter also on Amazon, $15 and also can accommodate 2 different wrench sizes, that may come in handy. I'm thinking maybe a socket/ratchet may go on one as a nice handle.

Thanks for the tip on that drive attachment. I bought one in case my primary goes missing.

Yesterday lifting some heavy limbs over power lines I maxed out my batt Hole Hawg's abilities. Had to go to double handed winch handle to get more lift. (5/8 line that was dragging in two or three places as it entered blocks.)

What's the smallest rope you guys have used in the Harken? I only have 11.7 climb line on hand to test and it doesnt seem to self-tail very well with it. It obviously looks a bit small tho.

The original GRCS is Harken 46 and operates with 5/8inch or 16mmm rope.
But I don't know all the grcs's and don't own 1
I have a smartwinch, a bit more compact
