Problems that present solutions that present problems that present solutions........
Wyatt Spruck was asking on another thread about ideas for crown anchors, and being that there are way too many to go through the motions of explanation I thought that it might be interesting to dig out anchoring ideas that you may have come up with and quickly binned. The crap ones may illuminate more than the myriad of 'do this' propositions?
So here is my first. The blue rope is the main line, it has been ring cinched. The orange line kinda piggy-backs itself onto the blue. The main support for the orange is a ropeman and it doesn't inadvertently release the blue until the 'slip' has been released. Releasing the orange releases the blue so it is an attempt at an aerial releasable crown anchor. I used it once on a fairly big rigging job, apart from the problem of it being completely ridiculous I ended up changing the rigging to work the spar and it faded away into memory. I call it the 'Pig Shit Anchor' and advise you not to use it !
