Competition footlock pruusik

What type of rope construction and size does everyone use for their competition footlock prusik cord?

3/8 yalex w/ bungee inside so it doesn't get caught up in things.

90% it was NE rope. White with blue speckles.

i use sherrills new prussiks, 50'inchs, im short so it works fine for me, although it didnt lock up on me the other day, i was about 50ft up and went to take a rest, my prusik had other plans, luckily i eased myself into it, otherwise i would have ended up on my back, i had to push myself another 15ft to a branch

still dont know why it didnt lock up, it was set and everything before take off...

prussik or klemhiest?

Klemheist has gained a lot of favor in most rope disciplines over the prusik. the spirals tend to be more dependable when it comes time to lock off.

really, I like the prussik a little bit better. I might add one more set of coils than I should for extra comfort. I'll have to look back into it. But I use some basic cord thats rated to 5k nothing special just a plain old loop.

I just got the 50" prussik from Sherril as well and noticed the same phenomenon. The issue might be with the size of the loop they grizzly spliced. I noticed with three wraps it doesn't grab well at all but with four it is too tight.
