Compact Bulldog Bone

The slick pin for the ZK-2 is too fat to fit in the 5/16" hole, however you could drill the hole out a bit and use the treestuff pin that way. The new Bones have shorter stubbier arms and don't have a hole outboard on the lower arms at all. Also the pivot length is shortened 1/8" and the aluminum parts are 7075 alloy. I will try to post a picture soon. Oh yes, it has wider scallops to ease the entry of the rope into the arms.

Gordon the 1/8 inch shortened pivot point what will this provide to user?

Here is a picture of the new Bones.

i do. I want to keep my bone looking stock as possible. Other than the super short arms, it is. The upper arm on mine is 3 1/2" and the lower arm is 2 1/2". With arms this short, the arms now collapse enough to allow the rope to flow through nicely on ascent when tending from the stock 5/8" hole on the spine. I will post pics.

Also, the arms on my bone are not grooved out.

I have never tried that point, I was just curious. The less time on the machine the less it costs you, although I know it is a small hole in circumference.

That is a good thought Gordon, but by doing so you are taking away the ability to rotate the one component that will show the highest wear.

I just use some grease on there, it cuts down on the friction and I never where them out. Ha ha, don't take that seriously and read the fine print.

Gordon & others, at this point with the new tending spot is the Spine hole still being used by anyone?
I will continue for a few reasons . I use a dyneema bungee and it has built in safety feature as break away and stretches when I sit back not while tending ,love it . I tend useing it through the center arms from the spine and the angle when tight to my chest on harness it keeps the top arms in perfect positioning to allow rope to fall through becuase the bungee spreads out and holds arms at the perfect angle it puts on bottom arms on the same plane because from the spine with what happens to top arms actually makes pivot point push down on bottom arms while making spine open the bottom link in a sense to allow bottom to position parallel with top and rope falls through beautifully. With shorter arms and pivot point I can't be certain if it will work as well ,but I don't think it would drag either.
