CMC Swivels

I'd be concerned about the sharp square edges that they seem to have.

Looks like they could tear up a bridge pretty well (unless it's just a bad camera angle)

I always liked petzls design because of the rolled over edges it has. Very rope/bridge friendly and doesn't seem to cause much of a bend radius issue

Have you climbed with a swivel in your system yet?

When P came out with the swivel I had it in for two trees...and that was it. Too much spinning. I traded it to Nick, he had the same experience. The swivel was stolen but never replaced

A swivel is excellent for double crotching DdRT, you can spin under the swivel to optimize your position. I like attaching my descender to one for SRT rappel, makes the device (Grigri, Eddy whatever) play more friendly. The corners on the Rock Exotica swivels are sufficiently rounded, very similar to the profile of a carabiner. I agree with Tom, for DdRT primary tie-in, you'll get a little seasick. Rock Exotica made swivels are top quality IMHO.

Tom, I haven't climbed with a swivel yet on my TreeFlex saddle. Sounds like I should try it out before changing over.
