Climbing hand saw

What is everyone go to climbing hand saw?

I just ordered the Silky Sugowaza 420 Linemans Hand saw. It seems like its going to be over sized, but I figured I would give it a shot. Its my first Silky hand saw so Im looking forward to that! Before this I always used whatever my local stihl dealer carrier. So it was always some variance of the stihl hand saws which were great, but I am pretty excited for this hand saw. I get it Tuesday so ill update all of you then.

Sugoi or Tsurugi (depending on big cuts or small cuts in tight forks).

The Sugowaza is one of the few Silky's I haven't tried. Curios to hear other people's impressions of it...

I found sugoi and sugawaza similar, one is just a bit bigger. Can't go wrong with the zubat. If it's big enough that you need a sugawaza then just get it with your top handle.

Naw dude. The sugawaza is great. I hate the little hook on the sugoi. The hand guard is also cool. I chopped the back part of it off and tied a string from the end of the handle to the bottom half of the handguard. Now it is more of a rapier style handle.

All that being said, the straight tsurugi had no problems replacing it as my primary saw.

My sugoi is pretty narrow, toothy, and curved. It allows for a long pull. I'm a fan and would not change any of its specs. I use the end thingy to nip off high pesky sprouts for spiked ascent. I occassionally use the saw to finish top handle cuts where I anticipate some stem wag, or when ropes will cross into the cut zone (better to prevent, I know...).

The hand guard was a novelty at first for sure. We always joked around that were swinging from the rigging and wielding our pirate cutlasses. It's just so overkill for a handsaw I find, but that has more to do with my style than the saw not being good or something like that. The hooked tip on the sugoi interferes in an annoying way sometimes for Sure, isn't it an "ivy cutter/peeler" or something? What's the straight goods on that...?

Silky Prosenti....basically a gomtaro with some small teeth at the tip....oh that is the kickass thing....I would never uuse a curved saw ever again....I do a lot of reductions and pruning so this is the shit...but on big removals it works too....

So I got the Sugowaza and its huge. Definitely going to have to work on proper placement. But as far as cutting goes, its amazing. For pruning a virgin tree with water sprouts galor it is great and for the occasional 4 in diameter oak branch its a breeze too.

Mybone big complaint though is fhat the sheath doesnt lock in under pressure. You actually have to use a button tab. But besides that I think once I find the perfect placement it'll be the shit.
