Chipper problems

Hey guys, got a 05 Vermeer BC 1400XL, I was in a motorcycle accident and didn’t run my chipper for 2 years, yesterday I put in a new battery, fuel filter, fuel water separator, it cranks and cranks but won’t turn over. It’s got the Cat 3054 diesel, put half a tank of new diesel and also a diesel treatment additive in tank also. Anybody got some advice? Thanks

I am better with older stuff, but if you loosen a fuel fitting at the injector and crank the engine, you will know if you are getting fuel or not. If your just getting a very small amount of fuel you might need to bleed the system. I like to loosen all of the injector fittings and crank 15 second, wait 30 seconds to avoid over heating the starter. It can take a long time. When you get a good squirt from each fuel injector line as the engine turns, tighten all back up and it should start soon after. If there is no fuel, its probably a sensor and I can't help.

Hopefully didn't get water in the system during the 2 yrs without running. If it did seized pistons may be the culprit, found that out the hard way and ended up cheaper to replace the engine. Mechanic was trouble shooting the starting issue and ended up using a camera to look inside the cylinders. As suggested above, follow the fuel and good luck.
