Chest Harness

the first batch of 4srt harnesses have a really nasty webbing which rubbed to shit when wearing a singlet but the ones available now are of a different, softer webbing . I run both pauls and the 4srt one.
my weight varies but I'm normally around 85 kgs and i find the 4srt harness a little bit nicer around my more ample bosom ;P...... the multiple attachment points are very handy too.

I added a loop to the back of the Swing chestie and wear it every climb, it tends and keeps my saddle on my skinny hips.

Very clever, Reed! I like the concept. Swingdude sent me a PM, for a "Chestie", but I haven't heard back from him since. Must be out riding them wild ponies!

I've been considering a chest harness for a while but anytime I tried one it kinda messed with my ascent, specifically when I stopped some where. My bridge and multicender are around neck/ chin height when I'm sitting in my saddle, so when I'd stop somewhere wearing a (shitty makeshift) chest harness to sit, the harness was bearing me weight around me chest/rib area, instead of on my saddle bridge. The neck tether has more freedom of movement, so I could stop, sit, then unattach.
Is this problem with the chest harness a problem with my chest harness set up or does this sound like I should just change my "order of operations" when I ascend to a point where I'm going to stop?

Ive concluded I should not be doing the next tether anymore. Nothing scary happened, but I can't ignore that I'm wearing a potential choke hazard/noose while climbing anymore.

I just got in the habit of unclipping the tether first, then sit back. Only word of caution there is that occasionally on some devices, depending on how your knee ascender is setup....that sometimes the ascender gets pulled down by the knee bungee. I also got in the habit of hand checking all ascending devices before sitting back. A good habit anyway.

The #1 pet peeve is anything around my neck, I've bought gear from several fella members and there always seems to be a "Hut" in a majority of them. So, apparently I'm not the only other person with the same issue. I've been using the "4SRT" for the past 4 days, and I do like the ability to choose a height. As for sitting back, the TM saddle allows me to sit up straight, not leaning back! I fully agree CHLF, but this chest harness is really growing on me. I must not have the Karma Cloud of yours Frank, or I'd own a "Swings Chestie", it's all about Karma!

Getting the tethering right is always more complex then you would think it should ever be. I've often wondered if a strip of velco could be used. On Ascent it would pull against the device, but when you sat back it would simply peel away from your harness.

One great thing of an adjustable bridge is where it positions your multiscender depending on the mode of use.

One thing I did to help with the chest harness is add a short loop of throw line to get the right feel and adjustability

I've been running the adjustable bridge on the TM harness for almost as long as I can remember, I hope I can continue climbing long enough to try the MCRS, but I feel like my TM is an extension of my body. I haven't found a better fitting harness in 25+ years. It's all about personal preference and body build/adjustability of gear!

I so much agree with personal preference, it's just funny how sometimes you get guys that are so anti adjustability.

I am trying out the 4srt harness I find it to be designed for a much smaller person. It really doesn't fit me too well It seems like a much shorter torso person would be better suited of it. When the v neck isn't against my neck, the back is pulled way up bunching between my shoulder blades.

Alright alright, liking the feed back. I gotta say tho, I have pretty much no interest on an adjustable bridge. just not my thing. Sounds like the problem is that I need to sack up and just climb with a chest harness so I learn how to use it comfortably.
The responses were helpful thanks peeps

It fits me perfectly, Steve. So, different strokes for different sized folks! I normally wear a large shirt, 180#'s, in the buff. So, you must be a larger stature person. I'm really liking the 4SRT, plus I have extremely sloped shoulders, so it doesn't come close to my neck, or interfere with my shoulder blades. Wished you were selling yours before I bought mine. I might have gotten a better discount!
