Cheap Chip Truck International 4700

Yes nothing leaned out is good. Gaining hp In diesel world is more fuel more air more power

Maintain the truck first. Make it presentable for when you pull up to a customers house and it's park In there driveway. Most customers would rather a nice truck and quality work then have a bomb outside there house with 500 hp parked next to there Mercedes.

Like tom said Macco by me paints whole cars door jams n all for 750.

I just spent 8k paint international chip box, inside outside of tool boxes, complete cab in side out. Had frame as well painted to hold off rust. Paint isn't cheap remember that, quality pays.

Rolled on some primer on the rear doors. Still too cold to paint outside here. Although warm weather is rolling in, try to get some paint on em.

Got my signs in but I want to paint the chip box before I install. Just clamped em up to see how it will look.

Yea I get that. Just hard to stomach 2500$ on a 5000$ truck.

I hear ya. Make it earn you more before you pump that kinda cash in. What are you gonna put in between the body n cab ? Would make a great spot for plywood rack n pole storage tube

Came with an I pack tool box, one of the major selling points to the truck. The floor were all rotted out in the boxes. Im in the process of reskining and patching all the holes. I hope to have the boxes on this week if the weather stays nice.

Agreed. We got a quote of just over $3k to do our entire bucket truck. Truck, body, boom, etc. Definitely shop around.
Macco painted my whole forestry truck for 3k flat looks great. Some shops will give you a good deal if you can work around their schedule but the downfall is you might have to drop it off at a drop of a hat when the have nothing to do.

Ya, I'm going to hold off on painting the cab for now. After about 2 weeks of service, the truck quit on me. Probably and electrical issue. Its been out of commission for 2 weeks now. They think its the computer, which was sent out for service. They promised me the truck back this past week, now they are telling me late next week. Thank god I have old reliable F350. Finished the tool boxes, just need a truck to put them back on!

Bit of an update on the cheap chip truck build. 1600$ later she is back on the road. Fried computer, and high pressure fuel pump. Don't ask, all I know is she has been running good for the past 2 weeks.

Got the boxes mounted up, and I linned the floors with 1/2" rubber stall matts from tractor supply. Cut well with a utility knife and keeps all the saws from sliding around. The boxes are huge, and have much needed storage. Chip box is pretty big, and holds probably twice as much as a my old truck. My plan is to run this truck all year, and try to get a dt466 auto, and build a 20-25 yard box for the back. This truck should make me plenty of money, and I should be able to sell it next year for a profit.

Ill give you 16.5K for it the way it sits right now:) Looks great. You did some good work on modifying it.

It's a new hydraulic clutch. Some things just can't be simulated in the lab so various field testing gets done. A chipper is one of the harshest environments a pto will see. I'll start a new thread on it when I find some time. Anyway, Royce when are you picking up treeline's truck?
