Changing the name of your company

Definately do it as a re-launch!! make a big deal out of it ! use it as marketing. I just went through a logo redesign from a logo I actually liked .However i consulted with a professional ad person, there is alot to a really good logo!!! Think of all the big companies and their logos>>> Coke, Mercedes,Nike, They are all very simple and understated but immediatly recognizable. Take some time to do it right . Colors and all It will be well worth it

Ok--here's a good company name
Knotty by Nature Arborists. logo would be a knotty pine, or a rope tied into a big knot, either would work.

P.S. I actually like this name, but my wife says there is no way she would answer the phone with that name. I agree it is a little too whimsical for a serious tree service, but fun nonetheless.

Just read this, Knotty by Nature...thats awesome!
You down with SRT, Yeah you know me!

Knotty by Nature just might be the best name I have ever heard for a tree service.

I am ashamed I had not thought of this earlier.

Kudos to you, Noel.

You down with ISA? Yeah, you know me!

I like that name Noel, but thats coming from the guy at They Might Be Monkeys. Keep both names for a bit and phaze the old one out. Make sure to keep the AA BDA so some joker does not pick it up.

It would sound even better if you answered "We are Knotty by Nature Arborist, what's your need?"

Hello all. In my area, there is a tree service that has been around as long as I can remember called Asplundh. If you ask many people about a tree service its not uncommon to here.... "What about that tree company with the orange trucks? Aspirin?? Asplun??? Asploond????.

I'm not sure if its the exposure (you usually see them all over doing utility work), the orange trucks, or a name that most don't know how to pronounce, but it seems that it's usually the first response you get.

Not sure what it means but if it's helpful in some way....great. If not....then I guess it's just my 2 cents worth of useless rambling.

Go for it Noel! It's an awsome name! Don't take advice frome some guy who calls himself "Crazy Jimmy" have some "Integrity". Your tag line could be "Bringing Tree Care To new Heights". Jimmy, Send me some t's! - ;-)

Update.... the new Springfield phone book just came out, and the new company in town, AAA tree service, took out a full-page ad under tree service, and a half-page ad under stump grinding. Unbelievable. Now there is A-1, A & A, AAA, ABC, AB Clean Cut, and A & B tree services here. We are now 90% sure about our new name, and hoping to get everything changed by the new year. I hope this doesn't suck, with the economy kinda slow and all.

OK it's official. I listed our new Co. name with the secretarty of state today, bought a new domain name for our website, contracted a logo design company to come up with a new logo, started the ball rolling on a postcard mailing to all our customers, and set an appointment with my radio lady. We are re-launching as of January 1st, but the media blitz will begin in the next couple weeks. We chose a name that sorta sticks with the old A & A name, that I hope will represent our company well. It is not original, I know there are others out there, but not in MO. The new name is All About Trees, LLC, new website will be Allabouttrees.net. I would love to hear any good slogans or catch phrases I could make a part of our advertising. Thanks for your help!

I think logos are very important marketing tools. As far as changing your name, keeping the same phone number is probably the most important. Maybe run an ad in a local circulation making consumers aware of the same quality of service with a new name. Good luck!
