Changes at SHERRILLtree

This seems like a great time to swoop in and close the loop on this thread with a positive note. I'd like to reiterate the initial message that I started the thread about, which was our new policies of free 2-day shipping, and no-hassle, free-shipping returns.

For the Canadians who gave feedback, you have been heard, and we are working on some ideas right now. I hope to share the specifics soon.

In general, I'd like to thank everyone for listening, and for providing feedback. I am not a "tree guy", but I happily serve this industry because it's full of amazing people, passionate about their work, their gear and the industry itself. I especially appreciate that people recognized the sincerity of our efforts, even though they may still be sour on us.

So, with all that said, let me share some good news. Our 2016 catalogs are now out. It looks like more than half of them have already been delivered. Which means I need to start on 2017!

And to bring this thread to a close, I talked to our team this morning about adding some gear to orders for treebuzzers this week. If you place an order between now and Friday April 1 2016, just write "treebuzz" in the comment field on the checkout page, and we'll include one of our new carabiners, a pair of our new ArborLast gloves, and one of our hats. Make sure you specify the glove size.

Thanks again, everyone.

-Sean
Very well said Sean! Thanks for putting in the effort and seeing it through. Keep with it. I know you took a lot of abuse being the front man on this and you did it with class as well. Cheers.

Just received my free WesSpur catalog today so if Sherrill wants to keep up they'd better.

My jaw dropped when the Vermeer salesman wanted to charge me for a catalogue at a comp a few years back. I told him I needed a catalogue because he couldn't answer any of my questions. It's so painful when sales staff have to leaf through catalogues to find what you're talking about. Maybe Vermeer needs it's own Nick Bonner.

The lack of class exhibited by you and your staff in this thread astounds me.

It's about life safety. Sherrill is offering free life support carabiners to Buzz members.

I am asking what country these biners are made in. I'm not forcing them to answer the question or casting aspersions.

And if we want to talk about class? Scroll back. Tobe has claimed to have read my private emails and that I'm an evil mastermind out for domination. Pardon me if I'm a little unclassy this morning.

PS-- This isn't about Sean, who seems cool and has been posting on forums for years. Respect.

The green Sherrill branded carabiners?

What is the name of the country that these green branded carabiners are made in?

Not seeking more drama, but I genuinely care and would like to know.

Let me help Luke.

These new individually tested carabiners are made in the same Taiwanese factory that builds life safety hardware for a large number of leading brands in France, Italy, Germany, UK and Canada to name just a few ...including, with 60% certainty, the USR snaps on your ABR lanyard; http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?item=534

Appreciate your comment about seeking to avoid drama. How about we sincerly head in that direction and return to competing respectfully?

Seeking peace

Taiwan. Copy that!

This will be the last post from me on this thread.

Tobe, I never got your call the other day. Call me 317.281.1014 when you're free.

Reminds me of the scene from the movie "Hook", where Pan and Rufio are name calling and the lost boys keep changing sides depending on how clever the insult was. Luke, we are perfectly capable of deciding for ourselves what constitutes an acceptibal biner. This whole thread was looking pretty grim for Sherrill until Nick made some uncalled for remarks. May I suggest you try to hire Sean?

Kinda makes up for the 'looking for a climber' thread.

At any rate, it's been said already, we don't hold any suppliers responsible for our crappy exchange rate, and I've no idea on how to improve supplies up here for us.....but it would be nice if someone came up with an idea.

To anyone left drifting around this ...unusual thread, I called Luke today and we talked, rather frankly actually, about the stresses of business ...love of family and the tree care industry. Although different in our approach to marketing, we're oddly alike in numerous other ways, ways i find similar with other supply house owners. We agree that there's enough room in this genuinly cool market for all the current players, that we should all just promote our strengths and leave other's weaknesses (real or perceived) alone.

Oh yeah, and Luke promised to seek moderation from the Nick. I offered to try and ignore him. Peace all.

Seems like both parties feel pretty passionate about their work and are dedicated to being the best. I'm glad to be apart of an industry that has companies that care and can have a dialogue about it. I have competitors that I don't get along with but still respect.

Sean is a good guy and like me just trying to do a job. I'll say 'my bad' on taking a potshot and stirring the hornets nest, he didn't deserve that. It isn't my place to throw mud and I apologize directly to you Sean. Lets all agree to compete on our own merits and not each others downfalls.

BTW use the coupon code MYBAD to save huge on any order placed this week @TreeStuff.

I love you guys!
MYBAD= 13% off. Tobe, would you be willing to price match Bonner, maybe go to 15% AND free shipping? You could try NAMING the code SILVERBACKSREVENGE . I would lay down a fat order today!
