Changes at SHERRILLtree

Sean, the new quarterly looks fantastic!

How soon will the new handsaws be available online? I tried searching by part number over the weekend with no success.

Thanks! We're expecting mid-to-late July arrival for the saws, so they'll go live on the website as soon as we receive them.

One of my guys made a sherrill order. Package arrived and he had to call them to ask if they forgot his friction saver. They said sorry the rings are on back order we don't know when they will be in, goodbye. (Close to that anyway). That was the primary reason he made the order. He was pretty pissed about it. I told him a few of the stories of how awesome I was treated by my aborist gear supplier. He said he'll be ordering them from now on too!

So my climber still doesn't have his friction saver. The post above was on May 21st. @seanlarkin Ill pm you his info maybe you can help straiten this out.

We may be hosers but we don't like getting hosed. Would a warehouse in Canada and no cross border shipping solve the bs shipping/handleing fees? Neither the customer nor supplier profits from those fees some middleman parasite gets money for nothing.

@seanlarkin Hi I have been trying to place an order with you guys for a while. Your web site will not except my debit card. I keep getting "gateway error- transaction refused. Whats up with this? I have no problems anywhere else and I even double checked at my bank. PayPal would be an awesome option on your site.

I know we are working on ways to improve the processes for our Canadian customers, but I'm not sure what that looks like. I've not followed up on that in a while, so I'll check back in and see what's up.

Your warehouse idea sounds good though. I'll pass that along for sure.

I don't have any explanation for you, sorry. My understanding is that credit and debit cards are considered the same thing by the payment processing component. I could be wrong though. Can you send me a PM with the name you were placing the order under?

Thanks!

Don't y'all have TreeNorth selling gear in Canada now? How is that going?

TreeNorth has been expanding their inventory but the prices are still a little steep, a reflection of the poor Canadian dollar. Everyone I've spoken to has had a positive experience with them. They're looking like a much better option given recent events.

Well Luke, I don't blame you for wanting to spend more time with your family. Come to think of it, I've never heard anyone looking back on their life, regret making decisions that allowed them to spend more time with their family.

Whoever solves this Canada problem will make a mint.
Word.

Actually, when you factor in the exchange rate a lot of TreeNorth's retail prices are lower than TreeStuff's. For example the Treemotion is listed at $650CDN, which is ~$503US. TreeStuff has it at $509. Same with the Hitchclimber Rapide, $89CDN=$69US with TreeStuff at $73 and Silky Sugoi, $95CDN=$73US with TreeStuff having them at $93US (There's a bargain!). Where Treestuff pulls ahead is with their discount codes and the fact we don't pay tax with them.

I've bought from TreeNorth a couple of times and it's been a great experience. They're still small, so you get great customer service.

Well there you go, I stand corrected.

I wasn't thinking of Vermeer when I mentioned parasite. I was thinking of that $150 rubber stamper customs broker at the border and government duties. But in retrospect Vermeer seems to take a big bite too. I just know I put in two $2000 orders at the same time. One to Treestuff and one to Sherrill. I was too disgusted to figure out what happened but from the US purchase price Treestuff's stuff came with not much of an increase and Sherrill's was aprox $1000 on top. Maybe one or the other made a mistake but it was quite a difference.
I've never heard of TreeNorth but I'll check them out. Keeping my money Canadian is important to me. I like the small operations too. Walmart is bunk. Bartlett seems like a decent option as well.

How can you expect to spend 4000 USD and that there is not going to be major issues bringing things across the border? Exchange, duty, taxes, brokerage it all adds up and works to support the Canadian government system while US purchases support the US government system. If you want to live in a country and receive its benefits you need to pay for it.

Ever tried to shop in Europe?
