Chainsaw Protective Pants

Wanted to pass this along. I bought a pair of Key single front logger jeans from MAdsens. They are the model that accept kevlar liners inside the pant legs. I've used them daily for about a month and a half now and just recently wore them for climbing. Gotta say I did like them. Not near as hot as chaps and @ about $80 for pants and liners they are a good bit cheaper than SIP's and the like. The only mod I will be making to mine are removing 2 of the suspender buttons as they kind of bite your hips when twisting around in your climbing rig. I'm no good at posting the online cat info from MAdsens or I would do that for you guys (and gals!). The pants and liners are both on page 53 of the 2011 catalog.

I would check to see if they are compliant. Wayerhauser is self-insured, and the employees use those type of pants with chainsaw protective inserts, if I understand correctly. I hear that they aren't compliant for everybody.

Yeah, Labonville is in my backyard here in N.H. and their gear does meet or exceed the UL Standards as well.

They're a great bunch of people to talk with as well.

Thanks for the review.. I was just looking at those jeans.
A friend of mine buys from there and has been very happy.

Here's another update on my review of these. It takes ALL night for them to air dry.

I would imagine the Gladiators and their like would dry a little faster. The jeans I can throw in the dryer no problem but the liners must be air dryed only.
