Chainsaw Pants

I just got my stretch-airs a few weeks ago and the best thing about them is that they dont ride way up my leg when its bent like my SIPs did! Oh did I mention that the stretch-airs dont have any rainbow colored stiching either like the SIPs. Call me simple but its the little things that make my day.

I had to buy them from Canada. I dont think their available in the U.S. in the chainsaw protective version yet. You can only buy the reg. pants at sherrill. Yes it was a pain to get them, but I think their worth it.

I have to go to germany. I want these!

Those are Pfanner Stretch Air Kevlar Extreme chainsaw protective pants in EN 471 visability reflex. They are great pants for groundwork mainly, the ones for climbing are called Arborist or Gladiator, the difference is that Gladiator have extra padding on the front which is partly water resistant.
I use all of them regularely, expencive - yes, but they are state of the art and worth every penny.

I just picked up my pair of quick stop extremes out of canada from the same guy as Tmannsclimber and used them friday in 90 degree F heat. They were warm but not as bad as my sips or stihl hi-flex's. We'll see how the hold up the rest of the summer and into winter.

So I've been scoping out the freeworker website for Pfanner pants and man, they have some nice stuff over there!!! We need to get these pants over here. Any chainsaw protective pants I've seen in the US look like wal-mart quality winter pants that my little brothers would wear in WI when we played hockey...just a nylon shell with stuffing inside.

The Pfanners look sharp. I can't wait until they are available here. I wonder if they'd be allowed to sell them at TCI?
