Chainsaw Pants

Persistence pays off Nick! Maybe you just need to travel to Europe or something.

It sounds like they will be available in the US, it's just a matter of time...

As I get further and further into my search, I'm thinking the Pfanners are the pants that I really want, but will not ever get.

Thanks for the links!

What's your size (waist/legs jeans sizing) Nick. If no one can ship it from near you, than I will buy a pair in Holland for you. Wear it for one week and than 'ship it back to you because you forgot it during your last visit' (would that convince customs

AGREED!

Who has them and how long do they hold up. $339.00 adds up to alot of stihl or husky pants! Are they really that comfortable, flexible and durable. At the current price I'd need about 4 yrs wear to justify the cost.... ok 3 and I'd offset the fourth by the comfort factor!

I just got my stretch airs, and yea, to be honest they still sweat like cutters pants in the really retarded weather, but i love the fact that they dont hold me back in the tree, the stretchiness of them is phenomenal, and i also like the material, its been 2 weeks, and they still look brand new

I've had the Pfanner Quickstop Extreme Pants since December. So far I love them. Here in the northwest we work in all types of weather, and since I have gotten them I haven't put on rain gear. The fabric really does stretch well and it stays amazingly clean. I especially like the details like no pockets in the back, how low profile the pockets are on the side, and the leg pockets. The leg pockets are perfectly located so you can get into them while you are wearing your saddle and the one on the right leg is the perfect size for a cell phone. Another thing that is absolute genius is the built in gaitors. I will put those things on my boots first thing in the morning and it never comes off or needs adjustment and when I take it off at the end of the day there is no sawdust in my boots.

The price is a bit high but worth it in my book. I think I paid around $360 with shipping and everything. I just think of it though as getting an extremely high quality set of rain gear and chainsaw pants in one. My legs and my life is worth it. They sent me a nice hat too!

I bought mine through a company in Canada. http://www.stretchair.ca/en/

Tim had some nice saw pants on at the crane seminar. They looked like normal Carharts but were saw pants. He said they were out of Canada but I don't remember the company they were made by. If anyone knows the brand of these and a website I would appreciate it. I'm going to try out the Stihl summer pants.

The Carharrt-esqe pants are made by Millworks out of Canada. http://www.millworksmfg.com/
The chainsaw pants are not on the website.

I tried to get some information from the company last year but I didn't have much luck. Not super-great customer service IMO....

I ended up getting stretch airs, I've been wearing them everyday for about a year now (almost time for a wash!). They are holding up pretty well, both of the zippers on the back of the legs have broken and one of the suspender loops pulled out. Other than that, I'm impressed with how they are wearing.

I'd buy them before the price gets any higher...

Millworks does mostly contract work. Supply the City of Toronto, some utilities etc.... I've checked out the pants at the factory and while they're durable I'm not crazy about the fit. For the money I'd just get Husky or Stihl.
