Did you get paid?
Or do you do it just for the love of animals?
I get calls but only one person actually paid
for me to show up.
Whats a fair price to be a cool cat to save a cool cat?

Cheers

I used to do it for a set price of 150 but found that if I do it for tip It seems to work out in the long run better.

Once received 400 and one time I did it for a lollipop. Yesterday 15 min, 50 for the wife and 50 for Christmas present for some kids.

Also have done one parrot and one Brahma bull.

Wow! that number is impressive.

What is the longest a cat you've rescued has spent in a tree?

10 day's after hurricane Ike in Tx.

Only one cat really stuck, it fell and got stuck in a small union and it's paws couldn't reach anything. Also have had them jump from 60 or so feet.

One cat rescue was a bit of a drive so I told the owner that it might cost a bit more than my usual $100. when I got there it was a super simple rope set and a really cuddly I-want-to-be-rescued cat. I boxed kitty, came down and told the owner to take kitty in the house and let her out near the little box. She came back with my rescue box and a check...for $500...I told her that it was way too much but she insisted. So...I obliged her :)

Scotty,

Have you kept track of how many were from a rope and how many from a bucket? I'm also curious how their reactions differ? Do they seem to be more scared of the approach from the bucket?

The one cat I have rescued I did for my cousin for free. She was up for 4 days. I climbed to her and she was scared of me. Eventually got to her and was able to lower her back to the ground.

P.S. I am allergic to cats.

I've had about half dozen cat rescues. One made the AP wire service and my brother saw it in the Seattle paper. My daughter was in first grade at the time and told the story of how I rescued the cat. The teacher contacted me about it and we arranged to bring the cat in to meet the class. The local paper was there for a HI story and it went to the wire from there. That was 30 years ago. I have never had a grateful cat rescue, every one tried to piss on me.

My first cat rescue was in Toronto and got $150 since I had my groundsman with me. After that I have flown solo on about a dozen for $80 originally and now $100. Never had anyone balk at paying. At least half the cats haven't even been the owned by the person paying!

Wow! That's a lot bro. I've done two. How about some more details on the bull. Did "Ike" put one in a tree?

No sir, I lived just on the edge of real country living in Fl. Ranch lands, citrus, and swampland.

Well anyway I was on my home and up the road is all sorts of vehicles, animal control, fire rescue deputy sheriff and a whole bunch of redneck cowboys. I was going to keep going but had to turn around and see what was up.

On site one big bull stuck in a mud hole with just the head and front legs sticking out, and a flat eye and eye sling already under it and the boy's saying"I'll go get the truck Jimmy" and I asked for a few minutes to set up some rigging. Animal control said "please" and Jimmy said "it's OK we got this."

Anyway I Set a block above the bull and put 2 5 to 1's together and a couple of us were able to get it out after we broke the suction lifted it up and pushed it to the side.

Jimmy came back with the truck and was a little upset, I think they wanted stake for dinner.

Two from bucket all the rest on rope.

Thanks all Merry Christmas
love ya Scotty

Hope you got tree work out of some.

I usually get $100-150. 1/3 turn into tree work customers.

$100 rush job paid $200 cash. Got kitty as the owl waited for dinner.
