Cat Rescue

Just a thought-- the callers I get have usually called other resources like fire department and humane society groups and they report being nearly humiliated by the turn-downs.

Dan's on the right track about having the site. We do our best to provide the rescue.

Anybody want to take the next right step and do a little promotion?

What I have been doing is I had some postcards made up about the website. I've been going down the list of places that I have climbers and looking up vets and fire departments in their areas on the internet and then sending those places a card. As you can imagine this is time consuming and tedious work for a outdoorsman like myself. I sent out about a thousand before getting burnt out, I still have another 1,500 cards in a box that I've been meaning to get to.
If there are climbers out there wanting to do some of the leg work themselves, I could send them a stack of cards that they could pass out on there own. Just email me your address and I'll send some to you.
I'm going to Hong Kong later this week to work for three weeks so I'll not be able to get any out till Dec.
Also I have a climbers tips article in the articles page of the site for those interested and I'm always looking for new climbers to put in the directory.

19 years , only did one (no chsrge) brought up can of food ....didn't need it , four days stuck ... it seemed to know I was recue , used a rope bag and light line to lower bag....I work as a Ski Patroller all winter , it was the same gratifying feeling of helping another human or feline...

Hello all. I think it's great that you guys do cat rescues. I'm glad I found the site because honestly, I would have never thought to call an arborist to get a cat out of a tree.

Hopefully, if and when I become a competent climber, I'll be able to get involved with cat rescues also.

altissimus - where do you work as a Patroller?

Dan, that is GREAT! I'll take you up on that offer. The folks who made the last call were turned down by 2 fire departments, the SPCA, and the Humane Society. Not only did they say they couldn't help, they ALL told them there was no one that COULD help!!!

I have some cleaning up to do right now, but in a little bit, I'll post the remainder of the story for my first arboreal cat rescue.

love
