I finally got round to seeing the new Bond film 'Casino Royale'
It's awesome, if you have not seen it yet go and see it.
The new Bond guy kicks ars, and the women are bootylicious.

Anyone seen it?

i might go see it tonight after i get a few things done round here on the p.c,ive heard it has alot of product placement but i dont really care about that as long as the action is there.thanks for sharing grover.

is mb a mod here or something??

Love to see it, probably have to wait for DVD release though.

MB tries to moderate the whole internet mate, haven't you noticed.

Tom,

It's so interesting you say that. I've heard so many references to Steve McQueen. It was the first thing my BIL said when we walked out of the theatre.

I really think that this Bond movie reflects what the author intended. I felt it really honored the book. A lady sitting behind us in the theatre said afterwards, "Now that's the Bond Ian Fleming created." I agree.

Apparently Casino Royale is the first of three movies that will tie together. There were a few things I was left wondering about at the end of the movie and the next one is supposed to clear up a lot.

Ok went an seen it,IMO very good flick didnt spot any product placement new bond was good action scenes great.

one of the better movies in a while, could have been a little more flesh from the ladys that was my only gripe.

Yup. its the 'hard as nails' look.

As a big fan of the original books, It gets a big thumbs up from me.
I like the lack of humour in it. killing people is unpleasant and not funny, and it portrayed that.

Loved it when after loosing to Le Chiffere, he goes to the bar and asks for a vodka martini and the barman asks 'shaken or stirred?' Bond tersley replies ' do I look like I really give a $hit!?'

that was one of the best lines in the movie....it summed the new bond up....totally against the grain of everything we know to be bond.

Did the 'tickle scene' sit well with you? :)

I cant understand why Le Chiffre did not use a 16 ounce Weaver throwbag tied to 3mm throwline!

My guess is that he is old school, he obviously is, he used 1 inch diam staple-spun 3 strand Nylon with a Monkey's Fist on the end.

Oh well, guess some people will always be stuck in the past.

I saw it more as the early Bond years, before he really became the suave Bond we know. I think the next couple of movies will be interesting in how his character develops.

Its actually much closer to the original Bond that Ian Flemming created. He was a humourless charicter, hard as nails, and a little rough round the edges.
