Canopy anchors

I used to be all about basal anchors on every tree, don't get me wrong they still have there place and I use them often . But The last couple years I have been incorporating canopy anchors a lot more. My favorite is the Texas Tug and its great if I hit my primary T I P from the ground . I also like like putting a stopper knot in my fimble saver , but it seems I have trouble retrieving it(getting stuck at the wrong times). I've been experimenting with a lot of other options , rings , rigging plates , rope sleeves, pinto pulleys, cocoon and so on . Also ways to transfer from a basal tie to a canopy anchor without untying the basal anchor . I am looking for something that's quick and easy to advance to to higher T I P and easy for retrieval . I've tried some other techniques with two ropes so advancing higher is quicker and easier by using a running alpine butterfly and setting up variations of the Texas tug also choked rings variations and friction saver and so on . I am experimenting a lot , I kinda think to much really lol. But I still dont have anything I am totally happy with , I mean I will just choke it with a running bowline if I know I have to work my T I P higher and then go to one of the retrievable options I mentioned . Just looking for some different ideas if anyone has some to share ,thanks .

I basal anchor 90% of the time. Probably half the time I run a canopy anchor it's just backing up a basal anchor. I usually just climb up to my tie in and throw an alpine butterfly on the basal side of the the line and capture the loop and my side of the line with a quick link. I prefer to keep things as simple as possible while still staying efficient. Could add a pinto to make retrevial easier.
With the trees I'm usually climbing I don't often have to advance my tip so I don't have anything great there other than saying the bulldog bone I climb on is awesome for popping on and off the line to advance it up.
What's a running AB?

Midline attachable, retrievable CA. It's the best.

You can advance and stay base tied, you can switch to canopy anchor, you can set it from the ground, or you can use it DDrt. Retrievable with an XSRE.

I think I get how you set this up, but any way possible to show it in "action"? Even if it's around your kid's arm or something lol

The videos worthaug posted say they don't exist anymore... Is this a technical issue, or have they really been pulled? I'd love to see how the system is setup/removed as I've been toying with canopy ties myself. Thanks!

Not sure why they don't work, let me see if it's still on my phone and post it again.

Hey Worthaug,

No rush at all, but I just wanted to see of you had any luck with that vid of your canopy anchor setup in action. I know I've been crazy busy already this year, so I certainly get that more important things take priority. I'm still very interested in the versatility and ease of use your system seems to have, so whenever you have time I'll definitely still be stoked to see it.

Thanks!
