Another possibility is a Gumbo Limbo tree (Bursera simaruba) which has the peeling bark hence the common name 'tourist tree'.
The leaves, bark and fruit shape all fit, but not the fruit color ... but maybe that's just a different variety???
The torchwood family is huge - maybe 600 species with 15 genera - so maybe search in that direction.
