camping near ITCC

I just sent off my registration for my first-ever ITCC and conference. I plan to camp rather than ponying up for hotels and I'm looking for suggestions. Two places that look promising based on location are Horseshoe Lake in IL and Babler State Park in MO. Anyone know if these are ok places to camp (bearing in mind I mostly just want a place to sleep and maybe a shower would be nice)? Any other ideas for camping within range of the contest and convention?
