Butterfly Bridge

So, I guess no one sees any problem with my captive eyed 'biners attached to the shackles? /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Leif, It doesn't sound like an arrangment I would like but it should be okay safety-wise unless you are adding additional links into the chain that could lead to cross loading the 'biners.

Leif,

I'm still not sure how to visualize your setup. A picture or two would really help. When you post them be sure to crop the pics and size them at about 500x500.

The vision that I have in my head is of a couple of biners linked together. That is generally not an accepted practice.

Tom, The picture I have in my mind is-no bridge at all -just 'biners clipped in at the shackles-Like clipping into the lower attachment points on a Master II or IV.-You are right --we need a picture.

That is exactly what I had in mind.

Another angle. Here you can see how the shackles are able to spin. I used Loctite 242 on the threads.

Leif, Why are adding the swivelsnap AND the micro pulley? The snap makes a cheap tender for lanyards and such. The pulley can ride right on the'biner between th elegs of the tress cord.- I think you will find that you'll have less "slop" in the system then and better slack tending.

That was how I was shown how to do it. I'll definately try it w/out if you say it's better. As far as my bridgeless butterfly goes, everything look sound?

Interesting configuration Lief.

When I've tried that sort of setup it feels really awkward. After climbing on a sliding bridge for years it is weird to have the support come off the front of my hips.

After I work through Tophopper's adjustable bridge Imight give this one a go.
