Brion Toss wand

I was just wondering what the 42" version of the Toss wand was used for? Why would someone need this version to do "arborist" splicing?

Long single eye split tails was what I heard. 16 strand splices have a 25"+ bury too but I've heard wire is better than the wand for those.

I've seen both the Toss wand and doubled piano wire being used for 16 strand.

I've used a doubled wire fid to splice 16 strand climb line, but haven't used my Toss wand for it yet.

The wire fid was tough, but not that hard to do.

You never NEED the 42" one, but if you've got a lot of split tails to make, the longer wand can greatly expedite the procedure.

I've heard of people using it to do a 16 strand splice in one go, instead of 2 if you're using a shorter fid.

I'm not planning on making any splice tails, just want to splice some eyes in climbing line. So the normal length is what I need for that? Thanks
