I just wanted to be sure that the message made it before I continued. Now, I agree with many of you that banning is a last effort and should not be abused. But, what is "abused"? How do we define these "lines" of what can be crossed and what cannot? I believe that we have proved that we are very willing to let things be and not edit or ban people. We have tolerated a great deal since we started this site. In fact, I have only banned one person here ever and that was after public warnings and private emails to request a change in behavior. It didn't change so I followed through with my word. That is what I do.
As for the vote, is that how you feel it should be handled? I am surprised that I never received any emails or PM's from many of you regarding this issue before this vote came to be. I'll have to think about that some more.

Well, I too like diversity and believe that it is nice to have different ends of the spectrum around. What I cannot stand is people being disrespectful and plain old rude to others time and time again. Who really wants to be the brunt of that abuse or even read such ignorant garbage? I sure don't. And, like an employer has a responsibility to his employees to provide a safe and positive workplace, I have a similar duty to do here. That is my mentality.

The rules are the rules. We court banishment if we knowingly flout the rules. If the rules are not enforced then they become meaningless. Do we not see enough of this in our workplaces?
I give the moderators full credit for the tolerance and patience they show.

I'm all for having Butch come back to the Buzz. For the many reasons already mentioned in favor of it by the majority in the poll and relating posts.
But if it doesn't happen I'm not going to throw a hissy fit. The Buzz will go on as usual without Butch.
If anybody really needs an MB fix to get the day going he's easy enough to find at the Tree House.
