Bridge on harness

I have a Cougar Weaver and I have been reading up on these harnesses lately and seeing recalls. I am wondering if I need to replace my bridge or if I should stick to the one I have and do equipment checks every time I go out to climb?

Any thoughts?

I was going to ask the same question! I've got one of the very original cougars, bridge ok, but replaced the rings. It's starting to sketch me out, though.

I don't really want to go full Liger, so I'm thinking of just cutting off the bridge and going with rope tied with a buntline to the rings.

I use a swivel on my bridge, so I'm kinda addicted to that. (http://www.sherrilltree.com/Recreational-Gear/Swivels_3/Swivel-1386). The bend radius I'm not crazy about, so I think it's a little harsh on the bridge. So this is an influence on bridge replacement.

I've heard great things about the warp speed bridge, but given my current bridge I don't think I want another bridge with a cover-I want to see everything. I don't have access to any 16 strand, but I've got a hank of Poison Ivy I can cut an end off of-no splice on that end so it hasn't been climbed on yet. How will that do? Or because the cover and the core share the load is that just like using a bridge with a cover?

Would I like the warp speed webbing style, because of the harness?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

just replaced my cougar rope bridge with a glide. glad to be done with the cougar rope bridge and any thoughts that occur regarding it when I'm in a tree!

I just replaced my stock bridge, it was showing some signs of wear, climbed on it for 2 years. (I should have earlier)
Got the Warp Speed glide bridge, ordered from Treestuff on Monday, just got her installed. 50$ is nothing, when you look at the value of your life.

I trust my belt 100% again. Isn't it pretty much a Viking belt now?

Not the viking, the Puma! LOL, jk same saddle haha. $50 is nothing. You have people climbing in $600 spikes to be comfortable but wont bite the bullet and replace their bridge every year.

Swamp Yankee logic at its best. I agree 100%.
