Not the viking, the Puma! LOL, jk same saddle haha. $50 is nothing. You have people climbing in $600 spikes to be comfortable but wont bite the bullet and replace their bridge every year.

Swamp Yankee logic at its best. I agree 100%.

I for the life of me cannot understand anyone not replacing their bridge at least once a year. Crumbs when it comes to all the gear climbers usually find the NEED to buy in one calender year.

Back to this conversation, I am looking at this kind of rope that is sold by feet. Its called Amsteel Blue from sherrill tree. I was wondering if this I could use for my bridge as long as the knots connecting them were solid enough. The line has 34,000 tensile strength.

amsteel blue would not be a suitable cordage for a bridge especially if you plan on knotting it at all. it is not recommended to knot amsteel blue...i would look for a polyester line as a bridge for your saddle. just my two cents

I just checked on Sherrilltree, and they said that only certain bridges weaver is recalling, so I am hoping that mine is not going to be recalled. I am thinking that I will be able to climb on it anyway. The picture they show is red spliced line, and mine is grey. I also purchased it in January 2011, or December 2010, around there.

Check it out though, I am still very skeptical with this company.

yo patrick,
replace your bridge! I think I was the one who told you to buy a cougar last year. I replaced mine with a piece of Safety blue that I had around. You need about 2 feet +/- to tie the knots.
we already had this talk via p.m. JUST REPLACE IT AND STOP WONDERING! Takes 2 cuts with a knife to get the old bridge off. Then 1 more cut to get a piece of climbing line. then 30 seconds to tie knots. Do it now or I'll call your mum. then your sisters. thats right I said it. They would all smack you for waiting so long

I just replaced my cougar bridge with a warp speed webbing style and I'm quite pleased with it. No bulky knots at the end to get in the way.
