bridge material - rope vs. webbing

There has been a few rope bridge threads recently and it just got me thinking about my webbing bridge.
Is there any real difference in wear? Is one any more secure than the other - splice vs. stitching?

I was using a Glide replacement rope bridge and didn't like it. The cover seemed to bunch up and slip around on the core. I also found the girth hitched ends could pick in thick brush because they were uncovered. I switched it up with a Petzl bridge called a Twister (22kN) and like it better (attachment) . The only downside I see is the rating : 22kN compared with 9000lbs for the Glide bridge.

Is this comparing apples to apples or are there other considerations re: safety and wear?

An advantage to webbing is being able to see the wear. As with a rope bridge if using a double braid your not going to be able to see the internal wear.

Where did you get the replacement petzl bridge? I need a new one for my sequoia.

You can get the regular ones at Sherrill Tree or probably anywhere that sells the Sequoia.

The Twister bridge I ordered from a local Petzl dealer. This was a regular fall arrest equipment supplier, not specific to arborist supplies - full body harnesses, window washing, that sort of stuff. If the place you got your Sequoia can't get ahold of it just look for local Petzl dealers.

The Twister comes in various lenghts as well.
