Breaking mini carabiners on footloop of SAKA mini?

I started with a neck style tether for tending but I just didn't like the idea bc I broke my neck a few years ago so I made a chestie just like swings. I like it but I'm gonna support him soon and get one from him bc mine is heavier and I definitely like the style he uses because it feels so good and you can make it so tight that it tends so close.

'Cept hairless ape in a tree :ROFLMAO:

Jk, jk. Yeah that's tiny. Is that much more than a folded webbing loop? I need to go back and try that again. Wasn't quite the right length (a little short), and it pinched my chesties, slightly!
Yo it is a chest harness with sewn tending pt for xrse biner. It is adjustable. I havr been making snd selling them for $50 shipped since 2012. They exist in every corner of the globe practically. Look closely....2019-08-24 21.01.34.webp

Holy crap - can you tell us more about the neck thing??

That is a mouthful. I think these things are overthought. Please get rid of that tender crap and purchase a genuine chest harness. It takes all the slop out of tending your chosen climbing system. I make them and was the first to create a lightweight alternative to the one's available in 2012 specifically for arb industry. They were big and clumsy then. Since mine many have been made for production. It is a game changer. That xrse tending spot in the pic makes a huge difference and is in the perfect spot.

KM3 with Epi 8mm? How you like Swing?

Broke another one. This time, it was an XSRE that I had girth hitched on the knee ascender's strap.

There was definitely slack in the system because I had the elastic out of adjustment (too loose). Got it adjusted right, replaced the XSRE, and had no more issues.

Will edit and post a video of me ascending, for your entertainment, either tonight or tomorrow.

Here it is, guys:

I just went up about 40-45' or so, then back down. Video is a little far away, but I hope it is close enough to see something. No kickouts, no nothing today, I gotta believe as a result of using those couple of foot ascenders that seem to align the rope in the channel more vertically with a "normal" foot orientation.

I don't know how to use the GoPro video editing app - Quik - so there are some fonky artifacts of splitting the video to speed up the center part, where I'm mucking around before descending. Still looking for an answer to all that.

The configuration that is being run there feels pretty optimal, at least relative to everything else I've tried. Using the CT Quick Step.

Tried @yoyoman's Footie today and - side note - I really like the fact that it is so easy to put on over those huge size 13 boots. Totally winning.

Lemme have it.

I wear size 13.....lol arb pro clipnsteps. Had to zoom. But looks pretty good to me. Good in line movement up rope no swaying or flailing movemnts. Maybe your bungee is too restrictive so you are putting a lot of load on your knee ascender. Too loose terrible throw too tight you are putting pressure on your footloop. Hard to tell from a short clip with you far away. Maybe put camera closer and a better angle pointing up....so we can see mechanics. It is your setup causing the breakage not your form. Form looks decent. But that fucking tree. Who recs straight up shit like that. Find a spreader dude.
