I would guess there’s 6” between there, but the webpage doesn’t say.

I would think the ball would hold, the pin on the scoops should not be hitting things in normal use, and those pins are very quickly installed and removed, no pieces to lose. Worth a try for sure, hopefully they work for you!

This is what I've been using 6.25" between the hole and the head. Then I switched the keeper pin out, I prefer the lynch pins.
