I am curious to hear about boots that people have liked while climbing. I have been climbing in vasque sundowners for the past two years and about due to get a new set of kicks. I really liked them but maybe there is something better? I like to try new things and tread on new ground. What works for you all? I would like something light and nimble but durable. I have been using the vasques for both spurring and trims but maybe will want to start having a different set for the two different types of climbing. The Vasques were a little low and small heeled for the spurs, but I hate heels while pruning. And then there is ground work.... so thats all like to hear some ideas. take care.

I use them for climbing and groundwork. Almost wearing them every day. I use other footwear when mowing/planting etc. They last more then 2 years, havent done that with Meindl's or other brands. For use in pruning they are a bit heavy and stif, but it can be done;)

I saw those boots in Maastricht last year, they seemed very stiff to me. How are the soles, slippery or good gripping?

Slippery on wet wood. Reasonable grip on wet streets. For the rest good grip and support, also on daily use with spikes. I would like some lighter/flexible steel tipp shoes for handsaw pruning. On the other hand im used to these heavy boots and it works for me. So ill see what i will do in future.
