black widow

Don't know anything about the black widow. But I would say save up for the treemotion, and you can't go wrong.

If you want to stay mid-range, try the sequoia.

I had one, it is a good saddle, hangs you nice and in good COG,had enough gear loops, very lightweight, but all around, a good lightweight saddle that surprisingly; hung a big saw nicely.

the lack of being able to swap the bridge out made me sell it.

So, you can't change the bridge. That's what it looks like in the pics too.

I don't really carry much gear anyway, I try to pick what I need before I ascend. I usually carry a web sling, hand saw, footlock prusik, maybe a retrievable redirect, carabiners, anything else I ask to be sent up like, lowering lines, blocks, chainsaws...

I don't think I need a tree motion they're too expensive and, I don't need to hang gear from my legs. I hear they're comfortable but, the only times I'm uncomfortable are when I'm in one position for a long time, like cutting pieces of a large trunk, I think hips and legs will fatigue no matter what harness you have. Who knows, maybe I'll eat these words.

I bought a butterfly2 this last time and I regretted not getting the treemotion the very next day. I still don't have one but I will never own a different one until I buy a treemotion. Maybe then I will feel free to check out some others, like a tree austria, treeflex or whatever that thing is that Reg is rockin in his avatar. that thing looks pretty sick. anyway, i've been moping for a while now about not having a treemotion so I thought I'd try and save you some money on the zoloft perscription.

I use a butterfly 2 also. At this stage I probably wouldn't be able to really appreciate the tree motion, kind of like being able to tell a difference between bad scotch and good scotch, I wouldn't have a clue.

the butterfly2 is still a great harness. you can climb on a bowline on a bight but it hurts. that's really the only difference. too much scotch hurts, too. the good hurts your wallet the bad hurts your gut. the scotch metaphor turned out a lot deeper than I thought.

Also, the bridge has no ring on it, which means that any biner you clip to it would orient your hitchclimber pulley facing sideways instead of away from you, which on long limbwalks is a pain.
