"Biner Question???

Re: \"Biner Question???

Steve, I think you are mistaken concerning the Petzl William. I am not aware of any Petzl Triact carabiners that open by pulling down rather then pushing up. Are you referring to Petzl Ball Lock carabiners that require neither a pull down or push up?

[/ QUOTE ] yes, these are my favorite. they work great in tuff one hand situations.

Re: \"Biner Question???

Yeah, I'm probably backwards. Now I think about it more..all my biners are push then twist. I tried a new rock exotica and didnt like it because it was pull twist. Muscle memory is tough to overcome! Thanks. My Mistake.

Re: \"Biner Question???

Ive found that after getting accustomed to them, they actually feel more natural than all the "up and twist" biners.

Im currently using a rock o with lanyard pin on the end of my blue moon lanyard, and its more natural feeling than a carabiner snap to me.

Re: \"Biner Question???

I think they make a great attachment point for the working end of a lanyard where it is attached to something at all times. If you use them without the working end connected to something, you may need two hands just like other biners.

Re: \"Biner Question???

So far I havent needed a second hand. The "bottom" of the biner sits in the crease of your palm, and you apply downward force with your same hand toward that palm, its actually quite natural after you get used to it. It does take some getting used to though after years of "up and twist" biners.
